AES visited the CEB (Compressed Earth Brick) workshop in Montemor-o-Novo |Portugal organised by Oficinas do Convento and Touraterre.
They had just completed making all the earth bricks and was now moving on to the constructing the foundation for the castle kiosk. The site is located on the castel grounds, a heritage site with amazing views and historical ruins. To follow the progress and see the building develop, check out the workshop website.
AES was invited to the conference giving a presentation of our work methods and experiences from low-impact building techniques. Apart from participating in the conference and listing to interesting presentations, we were heavily influenced by the creativity at Oficinas do Convento. Many thanks to the organisers and participants for making our stay so pleasant.
